When should I use multiple choice?
Multiple choice asks one question and gives people a list of answers to pick from. It fits any question where you can list the likely answers up front, like “What is your role?” or “Which of these tools do you use?”.
When to reach for it
Section titled “When to reach for it”Reach for multiple choice when the answers are a small, known set. If you cannot list them, or you want the reasons behind a choice rather than the choice itself, use Open text instead. If the answer is a score on a scale, use a Rating scale.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”By default people pick one answer. You can let them pick more than one when several can apply, and you can add an “Other” option for the cases you did not anticipate.
Results come back as a count per option, so you can see the split at a glance.
